Whereas the deal does not come with any financial obligations, it does spell out collaboration frameworks in key areas.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"more-71114\"><\/span>Some of these areas include the development of military and heavy equipment transport capacity, the use of PKP CARGO&#8217;s terminal and siding infrastructure, traction resources, including locomotives capable of operating on non-electrified lines, and the freight operator\u2019s security and communications solutions, the company states.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement also covers dual military-civilian use projects and crisis response. &#8220;Today&#8217;s agreement enables the preparation of strategic infrastructure for the movement of our troops and allied forces. Military mobility is a key topic of discussion in NATO and the European Union today. It defines our development directions, mobility capabilities, and the efficiency of conducting various types of operations\u201d, commented Deputy Prime Minister W\u0142adys\u0142aw Kosiniak-Kamysz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPoland is a leader. We have signed a clause with the Federal Republic of Germany and the Kingdom of the Netherlands \u2013 with other countries also joining \u2013 enabling the seamless movement and rapid deployment of troops\u201d, Kosiniak-Kamysz continued. \u201cThis is one of the most important elements of rapid response. We are building a new security architecture around the Baltic Sea, and military mobility from Baltic ports is crucial there.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Investment projects<\/h2>\n<p>The Polish infrastructure minister Dariusz Klimczak emphasised that the agreement systematically regulates cooperation between the rail freight operator, the defence ministry and the Polish Armed Forces.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the agreement not introducing financial obligations for any party, the Ministry of National Defence has signalled its willingness to cooperate with PKP Cargo in dual-use investment projects. \u201cIn particular, the cooperation may include projects related to the mobility of heavy military equipment and securing rail transport of military units in Poland and abroad\u201d, writes PKP Cargo.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement is concluded for an indefinite period of time, says PKP Cargo.
