Two new intermodal services have been launched connecting Poland to the Adriatic and the North Sea. Earlier this week, Miratrans deployed the first shuttle train between Rotterdam and Krzewie, while Baltic Rail announced a new link between the port of Rijeka and two terminals in southern Poland (plus one in Czechia).<\/strong>
\n<\/span>The Rotterdam-Krzewie service will run twice a week and connect the RSC Rotterdam terminal and the Miratrans facility in the heart of Poland. The other service will serve the Polish terminals in Wroc\u0142aw and Katowice and the one in Paskow, near the Czech border with Poland, to the Croatian port of Rijeka. This service will act as an alternative to the already existing connections from the Slovenian port of Koper.<\/p>\n

Intermodal transport in Poland has been on the rise over the past couple of years. Between 2024 and 2025, all performance indicators grew<\/a>, with record figures in the first and fourth quarter. Despite being a fast-growing market, intermodal is still only a minority of the Polish rail freight world, and there are still many segments with potential to be unlocked, such as the transport of semi-trailers, as data from the Polish Office of Transport recently highlighted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
