The new connection aims at providing a transport solution not reliant on fossil fuels in the midst of the current oil crisis.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"more-70801\"><\/span>The service, called \u2018Rail4Truck\u2019, is being launched in cooperation with the Italian National Association of Road Transport (ANITA). There will be two roundtrips per week, with the possibility of extending the link to Catania in Sicily, FS said. This initiative, the company added, will save 200 litres of diesel for every truck on each trip.<\/p>\n<h2>Fuel prices up 16.85%<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cAt a particularly difficult time for businesses, we want to offer the market a solution capable of supporting the country\u2019s logistics and production supply chains with a sustainable, efficient and reliable service\u201d, said Sabrina De Filippis, CEO of FS Logistix. Road transport is facing challenges due to the spikes in diesel prices.<\/p>\n<p>The average price of diesel for cars and trucks has grown 16.85% between February and March 2026 in Italy.
