Wensleydale Railway will once again be hosting its Model Railway Show on the 2nd<\/sup> weekend of May. The annual event will take place on 9 and 10 May at Leeming Bar Station. There will be layouts of various gauges from N to O on display, trade and model-making demonstration stands in attendance and hot & cold drinks and light snacks will be on sale from their static buffet coach. Draft and bottled beer will also be on sale on the platform, next to the buffet car. Refreshments will also be available at Leyburn station tearoom.<\/p>\n

All passenger services will be diesel loco-hauled between Scruton and Leyburn over the whole weekend (subject to availability). The railway will be operating services between Scruton and Leyburn over the whole weekend.<\/p>\n

In addition to the separate model railway show entry ticket, the railway\u2019s full range of train travel tickets will also be available. If you fancy spending the whole day riding their trains, choose the all-day \u2018Ranger\u2019 ticket for \u00a325. Normal return fares and single fares are also available. And don\u2019t forget – children aged 3 to 15 travel for only \u00a31 on the railway\u2019s trains!<\/p>\n

Do you enjoy history? Why not visit the railway\u2019s award-winning restored station museums at Leeming Bar and Scruton. Enjoy free guided tours with costumed living history interpreters and learn about rural railway life in the early 1900s.<\/p>\n

The event will be open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. Tickets for entry to the model railway show cost \u00a36 for adults; children aged 3 to 15 are free. Tickets can be bought online or on the day at the show.<\/p>\n

Nick Keegan, Marketing and Fundraising Manager at Wensleydale Railway said: \u201cOur model railway show returns for its 5th<\/sup> year at Leeming Bar Station and will be bigger than ever! We will have 14 layouts on display, a selection of trade stands and model-making demonstrations in attendance and our heritage diesel locomotives will be running all passenger services.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

He added: \u201cOur \u00a325 Ranger ticket is the perfect way for visitors and railway enthusiasts alike to spend the whole day riding our heritage diesel trains. Combine this with our \u2018kids-for-a-quid\u2019 travel – where children aged 3 to 15 travel for only \u00a31 on our trains with a paying adult – and you have a great value day out for the whole family at our volunteer-led heritage railway!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
