{"id":4056,"date":"2024-01-20T16:36:45","date_gmt":"2024-01-20T06:36:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=4056"},"modified":"2024-01-20T16:36:45","modified_gmt":"2024-01-20T06:36:45","slug":"ec-clears-obbs-acquisition-of-go-ahead-germany","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=4056","title":{"rendered":"EC clears \u00d6BB\u2019s acquisition of Go-Ahead Germany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE European Commission (EC) has approved under European Union (EU) merger regulations the acquisition of the German activities of British public transport group Go-Ahead by Austrian Federal Railways (\u00d6BB) subsidiary \u00d6BB-Passenger.<\/p>\n<p>The EC concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns given the companies\u2019 limited combined market position resulting from the proposed transaction.<\/p>\n<p>An \u00d6BB spokesperson told IRJ that closing on the deal is expected by the end of January.<\/p>\n<p>Go-Ahead Germany holds three regional operating contracts in Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg and two in Bavaria, accounting for approximately 10 million train-km per year in each state.
