The initiative will remove \u201cmore than 1,400 truck journeys each year\u201d, the company said.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"more-70559\"><\/span>VGH collects the paper and then PKP Cargo and Transwaggon take care of rail transportation with 600-metre-long trains. \u201cBy increasing the use of rail in our paper and board logistics network, we are improving reliability for customers while significantly reducing emissions\u201d, Saverio Mayer, President and CEO, Europe, MEA &amp; APAC at Smurfit Westrock said.<\/p>\n<p>Smurfit Westrock operates several packaging production sites all across Poland. The main one is in Pruszk\u00f3w, in the eastern outskirts of Warsaw, which was recently expanded to reach a capacity of 500 million boxes annually. The company is the result of the merger between Smurfit Kappa and WestRock in July 2024.
