What started as a single operation in western New York now has more than 100 railroads around the globe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The anniversary units are wearing a modern version of the\u00a0 \u201cwhisker stripes\u201d scheme used until the 1970s. The suggestion to paint the units came from an employee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/railfan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/gwheritage_rfr8001.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>The two heritage units were leading an excursion out of Rochester, N.Y., on Thursday.
