This high-flying pantheon consisted of the <a href=\"https:\/\/simpleflying.com\/tag\/b-52\/\">B-52 Stratofortress<\/a> (AKA the &#8220;B.U.F.F.&#8221;), the <a href=\"https:\/\/simpleflying.com\/tag\/c-130\/\">C-130 Hercules<\/a>, the U-2 spy plane (affectionately known to her pilots as &#8220;The Dragon Lady.&#8221;), the P-3 Orion, and last but not least, the Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker.    <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The KC-135 was part of a quintet of still-serving US military planes with a service record of 50+ years as of 2022.
