Most people know Gene Roddenberry as the creator of Star Trek – a visionary who imagined humanity exploring the galaxy and encountering alien civilizations.<\/p>\n

But very few people know that in the 1970s, Roddenberry became involved in a series of real-life psychic experiments attempting to communicate with a mysterious group of entities known only as \u201cThe Nine.\u201d<\/p>\n

These sessions, conducted with psychic medium Phyllis Schlemmer and Parapsychologist Andrija Puharich, produced dozens of hours of recorded conversations with something claiming to represent a group of ancient intelligences connected to the origins of humanity.<\/p>\n

Roddenberry attended several of these session – and the experience inspired a script he later wrote about the phenomenon.<\/p>\n
