ScotRail services will not operate to or from Glasgow Central High Level until at least Wednesday (18 March), as demolition work is carried out at the nearby building on Union Street.<\/p>\n

With the site formally handed over to Glasgow City Council, a safe zone has been established to allow the council to finalise its assessment of the building and get the demolition process underway. <\/p>\n

As that zone extended to the station itself, it has not been possible for the necessary work to take place for any reopening of the platforms that would enable ScotRail to restore services from the high level. <\/p>\n

Further information will be provided to customers the afternoon (16 March) to outline when services will be able to return.<\/p>\n

A full timetable of services at the station\u2019s low level platforms, which serve routes from Cumbernauld, Whifflet, Larkhall, and Motherwell to Dalmuir, Balloch, and Milngavie, resumed on Wednesday, 11 March, and they will continue to operate. <\/p>\n

Customers are being advised to check their entire journey before travelling, as many routes across the west of Scotland are suspended or operating with alterations.<\/p>\n

ScotRail is continuing to keep customers updated \u2013 including information on impacted routes and details of how to claim refunds on unused tickets \u2013 on the ScotRail website, app, and through its social media channels. Station staff are also on hand across the network to help where possible.<\/p>\n

Further updates will be provided on services as soon as more information becomes available.<\/p>\n

David Ross, ScotRail chief operating officer, said: \u201cWe know is it is frustrating for our customers that there will be no ScotRail services running to or from Glasgow Central High Level until at least next Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut Glasgow City Council and Network Rail must be given time to make sure the station is safe for the return of passenger services. We will only restore services when it is safe to do so. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe know this closure is causing significant disruption for our customers, and we\u2019re sorry for the impact it is having on journeys. <\/p>\n

\u201cOur teams are working hard to keep people moving where possible, and we\u2019d encourage customers to check their journey before travelling using the ScotRail app or website.\u201d<\/p>\n
