The Dartford-headquartered operator marked its diamond anniversary yesterday by unveiling a refreshed brand and outlining growth plans built on its post-2020 performance. The company says it has moved £11.2bn worth of goods between the UK and the EU since new trade rules took effect.

Centred in the heart of what might easily be called Kent’s Logisticsland – the northwestern part of the county that borders on London and the Thames and is home to many logistics businesses. Within this slightly less floral quarter of the Garden of England, Europa has flourished. It has quadrupled in size over the past 13 years. The independent group has expanded its road freight, air and sea, and contract logistics operations during a period of regulatory change and wider economic uncertainty.

Building a model for smoother UK–EU trade

Since the introduction of post-Brexit customs arrangements in 2020, Europa says its road freight division has handled twice the volume of its nearest competitor on UK–EU routes. The company attributes much of that performance to Europa Flow, its in-house developed system designed to manage customs formalities and reduce border friction for exporters and importers.

While much of the focus has been on domestic logistics development in the UK, particularly intermodal, Europa has been growing a worldwide presence. Customers have credited the platform with maintaining continuity during the early years of the new trading regime. Andrew Baxter, CEO and owner of the group, said: “The last six years have been a litmus test for the UK logistics sector. While others saw obstacles, we built bridges. Moving £11bn worth of goods in such a complex climate proves that with the right innovation, British exporters remain resilient and competitive.”

Dartford base underpins national growth

Europa’s base in Dartford places it close to the Channel crossings and the Thames corridor distribution parks. The location has long been a focal point for UK–EU road freight, offering direct access to the motorway network and key ports. From this base, the company has developed a customs capability that integrates bonded warehousing and specialist clearance teams.

Dave Wickham, also in the new livery (Simon Walton)

The Europa Worldwide Group now employs around 1,300 staff across 30 sites worldwide and operates in 160 countries. Its Europa Warehouse division manages more than one million square feet of fulfilment space at three English locations, in Corby, Dartford and Birmingham. Air and sea freight operations have also grown, with hubs in Hong Kong, mainland China, the UAE, India and the UK supporting diversified trade lanes.

New identity signals next phase

The new “Powered by Better” identity, introduced yesterday, includes revised vehicle liveries and a company manifesto built around three pillars. The company defines these as Smarter Solutions, to Wow every Customer, and Always Win on Value. Management says the rebrand reflects operational focus rather than a change of ownership or structure.

“‘Powered by Better’ perfectly communicates our DNA,” Andrew Baxter said. “In logistics, you cannot settle for second best. As we celebrate 60 years since our founding in 1966, we aren’t just looking back at our heritage—we are asserting our role as the company-of-choice for the next generation of global traders.”

Ten years after the Brexit referendum, Europa Worldwide Group has set out a new strategy aimed at consolidating its role in UK–EU trade.

[19772,328,72,12152,1924,19774,19775,7932,1732,471,12153,19776,10127,12154,19155,85
12159
post-380687","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-andrew-baxter","category-brexit","category-business","category-business-commerce-miscellaneous","category-eu","category-europa-worldwide","category-europa-worldwide-group","category-logistics","category-multimodal","category-news","category-operations-transport","category-powered-by-better","category-road","category-shipping-logistics","category-transport-distribution","category-uk","tag-world-cargo-news
["GET
