DB Cargo UK has announced a number of new appointments to further improve the company\u2019s operational and financial performance and position the company for long-term success.<\/p>\n

Roger Neary, who was previously chief sales officer, will take on the consolidated role of chief commercial officer. This will bring all the company\u2019s commercial activities under one umbrella \u2013 Sales and Commercial Development \u2013 as well as Engineering which DB has ambitious plans to grow as part of its new strategy.<\/p>\n

Roger\u2019s new role will be pivotal in delivering profitable and sustainable growth for the business as it diversifies its future service offering.<\/p>\n

Kate Turner, who was previously head of operations North, has been appointed chief operating officer, but with additional responsibility for Train Planning. This will bring all the company\u2019s frontline operations under one umbrella, ensuring DB continues to deliver safe and reliable services to its customers. Kate, who joined DB as an apprentice in 2012, will join the UK management board.<\/p>\n

Mark Sargant, who was previously head of operations south, will take on the role of director of operations, with a new national remit. He will be responsible for all train running operations across the UK, working with frontline colleagues to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of day-to-day services.<\/p>\n

Graham Preston, head of operational projects, will also take on overall accountability for delivery of the company\u2019s activities associated with the introduction of the European Rail Traffic Management System here in the UK.<\/p>\n

Announcing the changes, CEO Andrea Rossi said: \u201cAligning our organisational structure to our four key areas of focus \u2013 Rail, Maintenance, Services and Property \u2013 will strengthen accountability and ensure we are set up to continue to deliver best in class services to our customers and industry stakeholders.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy reorganising how we work and sharpening our commercial focus, we will be better equipped to seize and respond to market opportunities.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am particularly pleased to welcome Kate on to the UK Management Board. Since joining us an apprentice, Kate has gained valuable experience, fulfilling a number of senior management roles in both Sales and Production at DB,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
