That follows from an EU report on connectivity to T\u00fcrkiye, the Caucasus and Central Asia. TRIPP would be a welcome development that could contribute to the EU\u2019s economic security.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"more-69569\"><\/span>The European Union report specifies that the TRIPP route, which would connect Azerbaijan and T\u00fcrkiye via Armenia southern Syunik region, could be 25% faster than the BTK route. The latter is currently the only operational railway through the Caucasus on the Asia-Europe route.<\/p>\n<div style=\"border: 2px solid #0a4e7f; padding: 15px 20px 20px 20px; border-radius: 10px; background-color: #e7f1f8; margin: 20px 0;\">The TRIPP project envisions a railway under <strong>a long-term US lease<\/strong> through Armenia\u2019s southernmost region. It would connect Azerbaijan with its exclave Nakhchivan and provide a connection to T\u00fcrkiye. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"readmore\">\n<div class=\"readmore-item\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.railfreight.com\/beltandroad\/2025\/10\/06\/armenia-and-us-to-create-consortium-for-zangezur-corridor\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.railfreight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/ANP-533059106-128x128.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"readmore-thumbnail\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"readmore-info\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.railfreight.com\/beltandroad\/2025\/10\/06\/armenia-and-us-to-create-consortium-for-zangezur-corridor\/\" class=\"readmore-title\">Armenia and US to create consortium for Zangezur Corridor<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<p>As such, TRIPP could not only provide some welcome redundancy and diversification, but also speed up transportation on the Middle Corridor. That might make the China-Europe route more attractive compared to the Northern Route through Russia or maritime routes.<\/p>\n<h2>Raw materials<\/h2>\n<p>At the same time, the EU highlights the importance of such infrastructure for its own economic security. For example, T\u00fcrkiye, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan are among the EU\u2019s main global suppliers of borates, phosphorus, and antimony.
