The programme includes the restoration of rail connections and the procurement of new equipment.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"more-97133\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>At the Port of Varna, the two terminals concerned are Varna West, where the rail link will be rehabilitated, and PCHMV-Varna, which will receive a new mobile crane. At the Port of Burgas, the Dolno Ezerovo terminal will be reconnected to the rail network and equipped with a new charging station. For KRZ Port Burgas, the ministry stated only that \u201cthe supply of equipment is planned\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In recent months, Bulgaria has stepped up efforts to advance rail freight infrastructure. Notable progress has been reported on the cross-border railway link with North Macedonia. The country has also secured \u20ac50m to develop a terminal in Ruse, near the border with Romania. In addition, Bulgaria, together with Romania and Greece, is seeking funding for the Thessaloniki\u2013Sofia\u2013Bucharest rail corridor.<\/p>\n<h2>European Cargo Experience<\/h2>\n<p>Terminals, equipment and port\u2013rail synergies will be central themes at the upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.europeancargoexperience.com\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">European Cargo Experience<\/a>, jointly organised by RailFreight, WorldCargo News and Project Cargo Journal. The event will take place in Gdansk, Poland, on 6\u20137 May 2026.
