{"id":37047,"date":"2024-05-07T11:36:58","date_gmt":"2024-05-07T01:36:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=37047"},"modified":"2024-05-07T11:36:58","modified_gmt":"2024-05-07T01:36:58","slug":"aerrl-announces-one-year-renewal-of-its-five-directors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=37047","title":{"rendered":"AERRL announces one-year renewal of its five directors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The following decisions were taken unanimously by the members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/aerrl.eu\/\">Association of European Rail Rolling Stock Lessors (AERRL)<\/a> at their General Meeting in Madrid.<\/p>\n<p>Fabien Rochefort, CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akiem.com\/en\/\">Akiem<\/a>, is reelected as Chair of AERRL.<br \/>\nBart Lam, Chief Commercial Officer of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.birmingham.ac.uk\/research\/railway\">BRCE<\/a>, and Torsten Lehnert, CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/railpool.com.de\/\">Railpool<\/a>, are reelected as Vice-Chairs.<br \/>\nVolker Simmering, CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northernrailway.co.uk\/\">Northrail<\/a>, and Carmen Garcia Cristobal, Head of Sales and Business Development of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.renfe.com\/es\/es\/grupo-renfe\/sociedades\/renfe-alquiler\/alquiler-conocenos\"> Renfe Alquiler,<\/a> have been reelected as board members.<\/p>\n<p>In the context of the ongoing start-up phase, the stability of the current board, including the executive team made up of the chairman and the two vice-chairmen, is an asset for continuing to build and develop the association.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, AERRL faces new challenges such as promoting the coordination of the deployment of a single standardised ERTMS and a sectorial roadmap for a zero net emission fleet, improving energy settlement, impacting the DAC project, ECM regulation, and state aid guidelines for rail transport.<\/p>\n<p>According to a study by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/sci-verkehr-gmbh\/\">SCI Verkehr GmbH<\/a> updated to 31\/12\/2023 for AERRL, lessors own 3650 locomotives in the EU+CH\/NO. They have placed firm orders for 800 new locomotives\u00a0that will be delivered from 2024 onwards.
