Officers are appealing for the public’s help after two men stole \u00a310,000 of lead from a heritage railway line building.<\/p>\n

The incident happened at around 8.50pm on Friday 23 January.<\/p>\n

The men approached the North Yorkshire Moors railway in Pickering in a white car \u2013 believed to be a VW Tiguan \u2013 before scaling a gate and climbing onto a roof.<\/p>\n

They then removed \u00a310,000 worth of lead, causing at least \u00a320,000 worth of damage in the process.
The pair later made off towards Scarborough on the A170.<\/p>\n

Officers have released these images and ask anyone who was in the area and may have seen or captured footage of the car or man pictured to contact police.<\/p>\n
