Trains will be running twice a week for the initiative led by Medway, Trans Italia and Tramesa.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"more-68975\"><\/span>The Spanish infrastructure manager Adif ran tests along this route <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railfreight.com\/business\/2025\/11\/27\/adif-completes-commercial-tests-for-medways-rail-highway-extension\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">up until last November<\/a>, and now everyone is ready to make it a regular service. The route will still go through the Abronigal terminal in Madrid and then cross the border near Badajoz, where Medway manages a terminal.<\/p>\n<p>The Valencia-Madrid rail highway service was launched in July 2024 with four weekly trips currently operated. The extension to Portugal is also justified by Medway\u2019s presence near the border between the two countries.
