{"id":35587,"date":"2024-05-06T08:37:17","date_gmt":"2024-05-05T22:37:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=35587"},"modified":"2024-05-06T08:37:17","modified_gmt":"2024-05-05T22:37:17","slug":"dura-composites-receives-kings-award-for-enterprise-for-ground-breaking-low-embodied-carbon-grp-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=35587","title":{"rendered":"Dura Composites receives King\u2019s Award for Enterprise for ground-breaking low embodied carbon GRP products\u00a0\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.duracomposites.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dura Composites<\/a> has received a King\u2019s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category, for its sustainability credentials and\u00a0patented GRP\u00a0(Glass Reinforced Polymer) walkway grating products which boast incredible structural performance using less embodied carbon.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dura Composites is one of just 252 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious King\u2019s Award for Enterprise, announced today (Monday 6 May).<\/p>\n<p>The company has previously received Queen\u2019s Awards for Enterprise for International Trade in 2017 and Innovation in 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Through a careful combination of design, technology, and manufacturing improvements, Dura Composites created a unique range of Glass Reinforced Polymer (GRP) walkway products known as the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.duracomposites.com\/grp-grating\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">d2\u00a0Dura Grating<\/a>\u00a0range that have up to 33% less embodied carbon, whilst also being fully recyclable and lighter than anything else on the market, making installation safer, easier and more cost-efficient. d\u00b2 Dura Grating has patents relating to its design and is used extensively in UK infrastructure heavy-duty flooring projects such as constructing walkways, covering voids (e.g. trenches), and for service risers in high rise buildings.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As well as being lower in carbon and fully recyclable, the grating is easier to handle and achieves a better performance-to-weight ratio, the highest fire rating, best anti-slip properties and the most proven performance in the GRP grating industry.<\/p>\n<p>The King\u2019s Awards for Enterprise, previously known as The Queen\u2019s Awards for\u00a0Enterprise, were renamed last year to reflect His Majesty The King\u2019s desire to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II\u2019s by recognising outstanding UK\u00a0businesses.
