One of France\u2019s biggest independent logistics services providers, FM Logistic, has launched its first-ever international, combined transport service between the multimodal hub in Dourges, in northern France and Poland. The company has not yet disclosed where in Poland trains will operate to and from nor how many weekly round trips are planned on the route.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>The international initiative follows the launch of a north-south running French domestic service<\/a> in September 2024. FM Logistic described the new service as \u201cthe first building block in a European multimodal network\u201d that it intends to gradually expand around complementary domestic routes, with direct connections from Dourges to the south-east, south-west of France and also Brittany.<\/p>\n

It also plans to extend the network to Central Europe, the Iberian Peninsula and south-eastern Europe, notably to Romania. Founded in 1967, the family-owned firm has an annual turnover of 1.8 billion euros. It specialises in consumer goods logistics and serving e-commerce platforms, employing more than 28,000 people in Europe, Asia and Latin America.<\/p>\n

Focus on combined transport<\/h2>\n

Highlighting FM Logistic\u2019s commitment to combined rail road freight transport, Sylvain Philippe, the company\u2019s European Multimodal Development manager, commented: \u201cWe deploy a multimodal offering capable of securing supplies and meeting shippers’ requirements.
