{"id":348821,"date":"2026-01-14T10:35:24","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T00:35:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=348821"},"modified":"2026-01-14T10:40:00","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T00:40:00","slug":"national-council-of-jewish-women-shocked-high-profile-feminists-standing-in-solidarity-with-randa-abdel-fattah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=348821","title":{"rendered":"National Council Of Jewish Women shocked high-profile feminists standing in solidarity with Randa Abdel-Fattah"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The peak body representing Jewish women in Australia has demanded high-profile feminists standing in solidarity with Randa Abdel-Fattah after she was banned from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?tag=adelaide-writers-festival\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Adelaide Writers Festival\">Adelaide Writers Week<\/a> to \u201cexplain themselves\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Council Of Jewish Women Australia says it is shocked that the discussion of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?tag=abdel-fattah\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Abdel-Fattah\">Abdel-Fattah<\/a>&#8216;s de-platforming has not focused on her &#8220;outrageous statements denying and manipulating the mass sexual violence directed against Israeli women on October 7&#8221;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Former New Zealand prime minister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=140864\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"No one human being has done more to divide New Zealand society than Jacinda\">Jacinda Ardern<\/a> has joined a growing list of international writers and commentators who have decided to boycott the event in protest over the Adelaide festival board&#8217;s decision to rescind its invitation to Palestinian-Australian academic \u2014 Abdel-Fattah. &#8220;It is beyond belief that supposed feminists like Helen Garner, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?tag=jane-caro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Jane Caro\">Jane Caro<\/a>, Kathy Lette, Jacinda Ardern and others are standing in solidarity with a woman who said &#8220;this isn&#8217;t a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hashtag\/MeToo?src=hashtag_click\">#MeToo<\/a> or Believe Women moment,&#8221; even in the face of Hamas&#8217; own evidence and a UN report that it was,&#8221; said president Council Lynda Ben-Menashe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Have these women never read Abdel-Fattah&#8217;s despicable public statements in mainstream and social media, including that &#8216;Zionists continue to peddle their rape atrocity propaganda&#8217;
