Two rail freight operators in Poland are reportedly filing for bankruptcy. It concerns Ost-West Logistic Poland and Cargoway, companies which occupy a minor share of the market.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Various Polish media report the bankruptcies. Ost-West Logistic Poland is said to have filed for bankruptcy on 31 December. RailFreight.com could not verify the bankruptcy application. The company occupies less than a 1% market share on the Polish rail freight market. It owns 207 wagons and rents 389, as well as 11 locomotives. In 2024, Ost-West Logistics Poland recorded a net loss of around 2.8 million euros.<\/p>\n

The operator Cargoway and its subsidiary Cargoway Tabor are said to follow in the footsteps of Ost-West Logistic Poland. The companies are reportedly planning to file for bankruptcy.<\/p>\n

Macro economy<\/h2>\n

“Over the years of our presence in the transportation market, we have overcome numerous challenges together with you. It is with great regret that we must inform you that due to the collapse of the transportation market and extremely difficult macroeconomic conditions, we have been forced to decide to file for bankruptcy of both companies\u201d, the management board is cited as saying.<\/p>\n

Like Ost-West Logistics, Cargoway seems to play a minor role on the rail freight scene in Poland. The company is not recorded in Poland\u2019s Office for Rail Transport\u2019s data on market shares.<\/p>\n
