ScotRail has confirmed its alternative travel arrangements for customers during essential engineering work to electrify the railway between Edinburgh and Fife.<\/p>\n

No trains will operate between Haymarket and Dalmeny from Saturday 17 January to Sunday 25 January inclusive, while engineers from Network Rail carry out round-the-clock work to modernise the route.<\/p>\n

To help keep customers moving during the works, ScotRail will operate diverted train services where possible, alongside rail replacement buses serving local stations. Alternative public transport options are also available.<\/p>\n

Customers are being encouraged to plan ahead, check their journey before travelling, and familiarise themselves with the alternative travel options available.<\/p>\n

The work in Fife is the latest phase of the Scottish Government\u2019s wider programme to decarbonise Scotland\u2019s Railway, supporting cleaner, quieter, and more reliable journeys.<\/p>\n

Mark Ilderton, ScotRail service delivery director, said: \u201cThe work being carried out by Network Rail is a critical step in the electrification of the railway in Fife and will deliver long-term benefits for customers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe recognise that this type of disruption can be inconvenient, and we\u2019re grateful to customers for their patience and understanding while these vital improvements are completed.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy setting out clear alternative travel arrangements in advance, we want to give customers the information they need to plan their journeys with confidence.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome journeys will take longer during the works, but we\u2019ll continue to provide support and clear information to help keep customers moving. I\u2019d urge everyone to plan ahead and check their journey before travelling, either on our website or via the ScotRail app.\u201d<\/p>\n
