{"id":3436,"date":"2024-01-18T02:30:08","date_gmt":"2024-01-17T16:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=3436"},"modified":"2024-01-18T02:30:08","modified_gmt":"2024-01-17T16:30:08","slug":"new-york-city-subway-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=3436","title":{"rendered":"New York City Subway Crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On\u00a0 January 4th Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) leadership responded to the scene of subway derailment at 96 St\u00a0 1\/2\/3\/ Lines <span class=\"subway-icons mta-line ck-widget line-1\">\u200b<\/span><span class=\"subway-icons mta-line ck-widget line-2\">\u200b<\/span><span class=\"subway-icons mta-line ck-widget line-3\">\u200b<\/span><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Station involving a\u00a0<span class=\"subway-icons mta-line ck-widget line-1\">\u200b 1 Line <\/span><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>train carrying approximately 300 customers and another 1 Line <span class=\"subway-icons mta-line ck-widget line-1\">\u200b<\/span> train that had been taken out of service due to vandalism with no customers on board.\u00a0 At approximately 3:00 p.m. the two\u00a0<span class=\"subway-icons mta-line ck-widget line-1\">\u200b<\/span><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>trains were traveling northbound leaving 96 St Station at slow speeds at which time the trains bumped into each other and both derailed. There were no reported serious injuries.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
