{"id":335409,"date":"2025-12-23T12:08:45","date_gmt":"2025-12-23T02:08:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=335409"},"modified":"2026-02-10T11:42:35","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T01:42:35","slug":"commuter-chaos-on-geelong-train-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=335409","title":{"rendered":"Commuter chaos on Geelong train line"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Further Commuter chaos across the Geelong line, with a number of train services cancelled on Monday morning (22nd December 2025) due to delayed train crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Services that didn\u2019t run include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>04:57 South Geelong \u2013 Southern Cross<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>05:33 Southern Cross \u2013 South Geelong<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>07:20 South Geelong \u2013 Southern Cross<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>07:26 Southern Cross \u2013 Warrnambool<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>07:29 Southern Cross \u2013 Waurn Ponds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>09:01 Waurn Ponds \u2013 Southern Cross<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10:21 Waurn Ponds \u2013 Southern Cross<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>11:50 Southern Cross \u2013 South Geelong<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>12:19 Warrnambool \u2013 Southern Cross<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>13:30 South Geelong \u2013 Southern Cross<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?cat=186\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"V\/Line\">V\/Line<\/a> were unable to confirm whether or not further services would be cancelled.  This is yet another example of the incredibly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=143253\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"The Management of V\/line\">poor management of the V\/Line network<\/a> Victorians depend upon to get to work and other locations.  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=262061\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"New V\/Line CEO Announced\">Changes in V\/Line Management mid 2025<\/a> appear to have caused even worse delays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps the solution is an electrified service to Geelong handing over the management of the line to Metro Trains or their successor as V\/Line simply cannot get the job done.
