Tom Silvagni<\/a>, the son of high-profile former AFL star Stephen Silvagni, has been sentenced to six years and two months in jail after being found guilty of two counts of rape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silvagni, 23, was sentenced to a non-parole period of three years and three months at Victoria’s County Court this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silvagni’s has already served 12 days of pre-sentence detention.\ufeff<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sentencing judge Gregory Lyon acknowledged the “psychological and emotional trauma” of Silvagni’s victim when handing down his sentence.\ufeff<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judge Lyon also noted that Silvagni had suffered from a major depressive disorder in the time preceding and after his conviction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
