A delightful new one has just opened in Harcourt, and is the largest 7\u00bc\u201d gauge railway in the state. Round up the whole family and make your way to the\u00a0Victorian Miniature Railway<\/strong>. Set on 65 picturesque acres, this miniature railway features 2.7km of track carrying steam and diesel locomotives. It\u2019s now open every Sunday from 11am to 5pm.<\/p>\n\n\n

Victorian Miniature Railway<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Escape to the heart of Harcourt in Central Victoria and visit this charming attraction. It took over a decade<\/a> for a hobby club to bring this dream to life, and is run by a group of passionate volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Head to the station, which is modelled after the train station in Maryborough, and purchase your ticket from the station booth. For the sake of authenticity, pre-purchased tickets are not available.<\/p>\n\n\n

Then, hop aboard and take in views of Mount Alexander, creek frontage and mature trees. If you\u2019ve timed it right, you\u2019ll even see real trains from Melbourne to Bendigo pass by. No pets are permitted on the train, except for service dogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A picnic area is currently under construction, but in the meantime, you can explore the town of Harcourt, which is known for its apple cider. It\u2019s also a 10 minute drive away from Castlemaine, and 30 minutes away from Bendigo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
