<\/strong>was late on coupling up due to issues getting <strong>3B<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">I shuffled in sat at <strong>3B<\/strong> and watch the train action before the train was due to shunting in making the Swan Hill 07:39 for the day and watched some interesting things beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>06:54 <\/strong>I turned around and saw <strong>N453<\/strong> moving light engine to platform <strong>6A<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Then the locomotive went behind the grey Building, where, drivers, crew etc. sign in<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It sat in siding near by beside the Sprinters rail cars which I understand was most recently retired from us ie: <strong>Seymour <\/strong>and <strong>Stony Point<\/strong> line<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>07:04 N458 <\/strong>leading shunts in with the N12 the 4 cars set to <strong>3B<\/strong> empty cars from the yard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>N453<\/strong> was late to couple up to the train<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After safety checks was done we were boarded promptly and I settled in <strong>BZN265<\/strong> the one with metal rivets on the rolling stock outline.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>07:40 electrical fluctuation observed in fluro tubes in carriage lights<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">We departed promptly as soon people were settled the in the carriages<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">I had my breakfast and had to dozed off a bit and was woken up abruptly by <strong>severe bump<\/strong> before <strong>Gisborne<\/strong> as on area I seated was nearly directly over bogies the carriage!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong> I felt the train jerking, back and forth it on whist rolling along and was bought to stand still shorty after<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-center is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>09:04 <\/strong>PA on board advised &#8220;A <em><strong>Safety Inspection<\/strong><\/em> of the train will advise when more info come out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the window I saw the marker <strong>77 pegs <\/strong>we were located before <strong><em>Woodend <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>09:17 <\/strong>I saw from the window two V\/Line staff walk next the carriage stop and bend down and looked at the bogie of the carriage and walked back the locomotive.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the train suffering <strong>brake issues<\/strong>?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At <strong>09:43<\/strong> from the window I saw the two V\/Line staff with big shifters in hand heading to adjust the brake rigging on the carriage bogie on <strong>BZN265 <\/strong>after&nbsp;had  train passed through.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I <em>wonder if they were adjusting <strong>the brake travel<\/strong> with the slack adjuster on it or did something shake loose from it after that bump before <strong>Gisborne?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>At 10:09  advice on V\/Line website came out.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Live Disruptions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Service Delay &#8211; Bendigo line<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> 07:39 Southern Cross &#8211; Swan hill service is delayed by 35 minutes due to a train fault. We are sorry for the delay in your journey. [09:25 10\/12]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Was cleared to proceed to Woodend onward at <strong>09:52 <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PA on board advised the Brakes rectified. \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I was aware that <strong>BZN265 <\/strong>brakes were fixed by adjustments made on site on the rail corridor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Train Control would be aware as part of the chain of command to say <strong>ya<\/strong> or <strong>nay<\/strong> to this.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Arrived <strong> Kyneton <\/strong>late <strong>10:14<\/strong>  and saw with <strong>VN14<\/strong> on the up and returning service from Swan Hill. and we were cleared to proceed beyond Bendigo.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>11:02 <\/strong>arrived at <strong>Bendigo  <\/strong>eta <strong>Swan Hill 13:30<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Rolled onward, I can say we totally lost our path!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">245 <strong>pegs<\/strong> the train slows down nearly stopping briefly &amp; driver was blasting the horn of the locomotive!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>It sounded at least 3 times!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>PA sounds again advising <strong>live stock on the rail corridor!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"> <strong><em>I understand the driver is trained to take evasive action to avoid hitting them. As I understand in total darkness this might be tricky.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><br>PA &amp; crew advised problem with braking system of the train as we pulled in Swan Hill 13:43<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After quick run round and couple up at <strong>14:07 <\/strong>I was on board again for the homeward leg.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>after good smooth run to Bendigo we were at least <strong>44 Min behind<\/strong> N12 was fairly empty on the return\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> as I guess being so late the peak hr students and workers at Bendigo went for another service as <strong>16:01<\/strong> is the normal scheduled time for <strong>N12&#8217;s <\/strong> arrival!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>18:32<\/strong> <strong>BZN 265 <\/strong>scraps <strong>Albion&#8217;s<\/strong> platform again passing through  and there goes the paintwork, that will shine up those rivets again! <strong>What a rotten noise!!!<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Missed seeing the evening service&#8230;&#8230;by seeing<strong> VN17<\/strong> &amp; <strong>10 <\/strong>in the yard&#8230;..<strong>VN14 <\/strong>is missing again before arriving at <strong>18:58<\/strong> that day back at <strong>Southern Cross<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" corridor by the V\/Line crew<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Conclusion:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>The knock effect on the service was bad we lost our path and delayed other services that morning  due the fact we stopped mid route to address a issue with the brakes.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In VR days Before cost cutting and outsourcing to other transport company via tender or contracted to maintain the trains.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>running gear repairer<\/strong> who once worked under the supervision of  <strong>train examiner <\/strong>would of picked up the emerging issues beforehand as part of their preventive maintenance program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-center is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>I would never thought I would see this in board daylight where the driver had to actually get out and rectify something on the brakes on the train in the middle of the rail corridor!<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p
