Te Waihorotiu is\u00a0the name of a new underground train station in Auckland, New Zealand, as part of the\u00a0City Rail Link<\/a>\u00a0project, expected to open in 2026 and become New Zealand’s busiest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The station’s name is a tribute to the Waihorotiu Stream, a significant waterway that once flowed through the area, and to Horotiu p\u0101. It will have entrances on Victoria and Wellesley Streets and is located in the heart of the city centre.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is interesting to compare the development of this new station in New Zealand with the recent opening of the new Melbourne Metro Tunnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
