TransPennine Express (TPE) is rolling out one of its biggest-ever security upgrades, with more than 600 new high-definition cameras being installed across its stations.<\/p>\n

The \u00a34.4 million investment will deliver sharper images, wider coverage, and faster access to footage – helping staff and police respond to incidents more effectively and giving customers extra peace of mind.<\/p>\n

At the heart of the programme is a new monitoring system that detects suspicious movement outside operating hours. The innovation ensures stations will be better protected at all hours.<\/p>\n

Chris Nutton, Major Projects Director for TPE, said: \u201cThe safety and wellbeing of our customers and colleagues is incredibly important to us. CCTV doesn\u2019t just deter bad behaviour; it provides the evidence that brings offenders to justice.\u201d<\/p>\n

All 19 TPE-managed stations are set to have the new system up and running by Spring 2026.<\/p>\n
