A \u00a32 million investment in new track in Lincolnshire will mean changes to journeys over the next two weekends.<\/p>\n

Passengers are advised that an amended timetable will be in operation between Nottingham and Skegness on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November and Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 December.<\/p>\n

The engineering work means that rail replacement buses will be in operation between Sleaford and Boston over both weekends.<\/p>\n

Network Rail is installing 2.4km (1.5 miles) of new track at Boardsides near Boston, Lincolnshire, to give passengers smoother and more reliable journeys.<\/p>\n

More than 3,800 sleepers will be laid to hold the new rail in place, along with 4,200 tonnes of ballast.<\/p>\n

Dan Matthews, Network Rail operations director, said: \u201cWe\u2019re investing \u00a32 million to renew the track near Boston, which will make journeys smoother and more reliable for passengers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis work is essential to keep the railway safe and efficient for years to come. We appreciate people\u2019s patience while we carry out these improvements and advise passengers to check before they travel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Philippa Cresswell, customer experience director for EMR, commented: \u201cWe recommend customers planning to travel to Skegness over the next two weekends (29 and 30 November or 6 and 7 December) to check their journey in advance as there will be an amended timetable in place, with trains running between Nottingham and Sleaford and between Boston and Skegness.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will be a connecting rail replacement bus service running between Sleaford and Boston, calling at Heckington.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis work by Network Rail will help improve the reliability of our services in the long term, and we\u2019d like to thank our customers for their patience while it takes place.\u201d<\/p>\n

Passengers are advised to check details of their journeys before travelling with National Rail or their train operators.<\/p>\n
