Austrian rail freight operator Rail Cargo Group is implementing a new \u201cnonstop connection\u201d between Curtici, in Romania, and the Hungarian capital Budapest. \u201cThis new connection creates additional attractive opportunities for intermodal transport in the region and beyond\u201d, RCG said<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Initially, the service will run once a week serving the BILK terminal in Budapest, but RCG said it is ready to double frequency depending on demand. The Budapest-Curtici line is bound to become the company\u2019s gateway line to T\u00fcrkiye and consequently benefit the Eurasian supply chain.<\/p>\n

The Austrian operator already runs trains between Budapest and Istanbul, with further links to Austria, Germany and Belgium. Moreover, Curtici is connected to the Turkish port of Tekirda\u011f, an important hub for goods coming from Ukraine, Russia and southern Europe.<\/p>\n
