The rail highway service connecting Valencia and Madrid will be extended to Portugal. Starting next week, a pilot test will be conducted between Valencia and the MSC terminal in Entrocamento, in the heart of the country.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Rumours about the extension of this service surfaced in the summer, and now the companies involved confirmed the plans. Tramesa and Transitalia, two of the main companies running the service, have now confirmed that test trains will run to Portugal as of Monday 27 October, according to Spanish media El Mercantil.<\/p>\n

Initially, the plan entailed a stop in Madrid, but the tests will reportedly connect Valencia to Entroncamento directly. Two trains will run in each direction every week. The Valencia-Madrid rail highway service was launched in July 2024 and was then interrupted for over a month in November and December of the same year due to extreme weather conditions.<\/p>\n
