It purchased around half of the total production output, and continues to operate around half of the world&#8217;s remaining fleet of superjumbos. In a manner of speaking, the carrier also recently purchased another A380. Many airliners are not owned by the airlines that operate them and are instead leased from leasing companies, sometimes with the option to buy them later.
