A general meeting of Polish passenger operator PKP Intercity dismissed the company\u2019s board of management on April 19 and made four new appointments. They are:<\/p>\n
Mr Janusz Malinowski, president<\/p>\n
Ms Dagmara Zawadzka, vice-president<\/p>\n
Mr Marcin Karasi\u0144ski, board member, and<\/p>\n
Mr Adam Wawrzyniak, board member.<\/p>\n
The outgoing board includes former president, Mr Marek Chraniuk, former vice-president Mr Tomasz Gontarz, and former board members Mr Jaros\u0142aw Oniszczuk, Mr Artur Resmer and Mr Krzysztof \u015awierczek.<\/p>\n
Malinowski has worked in the railway industry for almost 40 years and since 2017 has been the president of the board of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a Agglomeration Railway, before that he was a board member from 2015 to 2017. He was also board president of PKP Intercity from 2011-14, when he implemented the company\u2019s largest investment in rolling stock to date, including the purchase of Pendolino trains.<\/p>\n
Zawadzka has over 20 years of experience in the financial sector, specialising in transport and fuel. A former corporate finance consultant, she worked at PKP Intercity from 2015-16, when she managed the finance and procurement division and implemented company restructuring Since then she has worked in financial institutions and taught academic courses, as well as being involved in the CPK project from 2020-21.<\/p>\n
The management changes at PKP Intercity follow the replacement in January of Mr Miko\u0142ay Wild, CEO of CPK, which aims to create a new airport hub outside Warsaw connected to the rest of Poland by 12 high-speed rail lines totalling 2000km. The new Polish government said earlier this year that it was reviewing the strategy for the project.<\/p>\n
Changes to CPK\u2019s supervisory board were also confirmed on April 18, with Mr Zbigniew Szafra\u0144ski appointed as chairman. Szafra\u0144ski has worked in the railway sector since 1983, including as president of infrastructure manager PKP PLK and a member of the management boards of PKP and PKP Energetyka. He has also held senior roles within the International Union of Railways (UIC) and the Community of European Railways and Infrastructure Companies (CER).<\/p>\n
In addition, Dr Miko\u0142aj Goss, an experienced lawyer and academic, has been appointed as vice-chairman of the CPK supervisory board.<\/p>\n
