{"id":30191,"date":"2024-01-30T11:03:24","date_gmt":"2024-01-30T01:03:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/infrastructuremagazine.com.au\/?p=51016"},"modified":"2024-01-30T11:03:24","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T01:03:24","slug":"78-8m-for-high-speed-rail-business-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=30191","title":{"rendered":"$78.8M for high-speed rail business case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The High Speed Rail Authority (HSRA) is set to deliver the initial Sydney to Newcastle high speed rail business case with the support of $78.8 million in funding from the Federal Government.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Delivering high speed rail between Sydney and Newcastle is a crucial waypoint towards the Federal Government\u2019s commitment to build a high-speed rail network on Australia\u2019s east coast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Federal Government has committed $500 million to the early stages of developing high-speed rail, including business case works.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Federal Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Catherine King, said that high speed rail is a transformative project that will change travel between cities and provide a catalyst for economic development in regional areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThis is more than just a transport project.
