{"id":30189,"date":"2024-01-31T10:08:40","date_gmt":"2024-01-31T00:08:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/infrastructuremagazine.com.au\/?p=51030"},"modified":"2024-01-31T10:08:40","modified_gmt":"2024-01-31T00:08:40","slug":"improvement-works-for-southern-highland-rail-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=30189","title":{"rendered":"Improvement works for Southern Highland rail line"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) has announced that it will be undertaking critical rail maintenance and improvement works on the Southern Highland Line between Enfield West and Cootamundra between 2 and 5 February.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the works, the line will be closed between Enfield West to Moss Vale from 10:30pm Friday 2 February to 2:00am Monday 5 February.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The line will also be closed between Moss Vale and Cootamundra from 6am to 6pm on 3 and 4 February.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The work, which is part of ARTC\u2019s annual maintenance program, will include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Turnout component replacement<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Track resurfacing at priority locations<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mudhole removal at priority locations<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vegetation spraying and hazardous tree removal<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ARTC General Manager Asset Maintenance Services, Interstate Network, Costas Kokkoni, said that the Southern Highlands Line is an important part of the ARTC Interstate Network, and that regular maintenance ensures that these lines continue as a vital link in the economic supply chain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThese works are essential to maintain a high standard of safety and reliability,\u201d Mr Kokkoni said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMachinery and other vehicles will be moving along the line during the possession, and there will be freight services operating overnight between Moss Vale and Cootamundra, so we urge all motorists to obey level crossing rules and always approach with caution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cARTC would like to thank the southern New South Wales community for its patience while these critical, long-term improvements take place.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) has announced that it will be undertaking critical rail maintenance and improvement works on [\u2026]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":13,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"_uf_show_specific_survey":0,"_uf_disable_surveys":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[8213,471,1433,163,8203,5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-30189","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-asset-management","category-news","category-rail","category-rail-industry-news-australia-new-zealand","category-spotlight","category-transport"],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t<!-- All in One SEO Pro 4.9.8 -
