{"id":30093,"date":"2024-02-29T08:35:03","date_gmt":"2024-02-28T22:35:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/infrastructuremagazine.com.au\/?p=51454"},"modified":"2024-02-29T08:35:03","modified_gmt":"2024-02-28T22:35:03","slug":"inland-rail-releases-responses-to-submissions-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=30093","title":{"rendered":"Inland Rail releases Responses to Submissions Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inland Rail has announced that its Response to Submissions Report is now available, with community members able to learn more about the Albury to Illabo section on the New South Wales Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) Major Projects website.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following the public exhibition of the Albury to Illabo Preferred Infrastructure Report from 15 November to 6 December 2023, Inland Rail has submitted the further Response to Submissions Report, addressing issues raised.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report contains an overview of the submissions received as part of the most recent public exhibition process and written responses from Inland Rail. It also includes updates to assessments on air quality, traffic, and operational rail noise.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Department will consider the Response to Submissions Report, along with the earlier technical reports in its assessment of the project and make a recommendation to the Minister for Planning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Albury to Illabo section of Inland Rail includes enhancements to bridges and other structures along approximately 185km of existing rail corridor from the Victoria to New South Wales border to Illabo in regional New South Wales to accommodate Inland Rail\u2019s double-stacked trains.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inland Rail Director Program Delivery (Albury to Parkes), Melvyn Maylin, said, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe thank the community for reviewing the Preferred Infrastructure Report, providing submissions and for attending our in-person drop-in sessions to raise any questions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe acknowledge the information in the reports can be technical, but it\u2019s important the community understands the potential impacts of Inland Rail and what we\u2019re doing to address them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Featured image: Inland Rail passing through Shepherds Silos in Brucedale, New South Wales.
