margin:0 0 10px 10px;\"><figcaption>Image:Wade\/stock.adobe.com<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Adelaide rail workers have notified rail operator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railexpress.com.au\/keolis-downer-awarded-2-14bn-adelaide-train-operations-contract\/\">Keolis Downer Adelaide<\/a> (KDA) that they will stop work for 24 hours on Thursday 2 May.<\/strong><span id=\"more-115993\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rtbu.org.au\/transport_now\">Rail, Tram and Bus Union<\/a> (RTBU) SA\/NT Branch, the planned industrial action is a direct result of KDA\u2019s failure to finalise a fair and reasonable Enterprise Agreement with their employees.<\/p>\n<p>If it goes ahead, the action will affect transport to and from the \u2018showdown\u2019 AFL match between Adelaide and Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval that night.<\/p>\n<p>RTBU SA\/NT Branch Secretary Darren Phillips said negotiations between workers and KDA had stalled, and escalating industrial action was the only way to force KDA back to the table.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWorkers have not made the decision to take this action lightly,&#8221;
