Passengers are being treated for minor injuries after a V\/Line bus plunged 2.5 metres down an embankment in Victoria’s south-east, prompting a high-angle rescue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emergency services were called to the scene on Fish Creek-Foster Road in Foster, 170 kilometres south-east of Melbourne, just before noon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Country Fire Authority spokesperson said three CFA units were at the scene alongside Fire Rescue Victoria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Upon arrival, crews found a bus sitting on angle, approximately 2.5 metres down an embankment,” the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Crews are currently stabilising the bus using a rope system.”<\/p>\n\n\n

The 9:02 Southern Cross to Yarram bus was carrying 11 passengers at the time of the crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Victoria Police said all 12 people on board, including the driver, were rescued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those with minor injuries were treated by Ambulance Victoria paramedics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A V\/Line spokesperson said it was working with emergency services to understand what happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The safety of passengers and staff is our priority and we are working with emergency services following a road incident at Foster,” the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uninjured passengers were transported to nearby Fish Creek to continue their journeys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
