{"id":29512,"date":"2024-04-22T15:41:23","date_gmt":"2024-04-22T05:41:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=29512"},"modified":"2024-04-22T15:41:28","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T05:41:28","slug":"commuter-chaos-in-melbourne-as-power-fault-causes-major-train-delays","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=29512","title":{"rendered":"Commuter chaos in Melbourne as power fault causes major train delays"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Almost every train line was affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/7news.com.au\/news\/melbourne?page=1\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Melbourne<\/a>&nbsp;evening commuters were left stranded due to a power fault which severely delayed almost every train line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were major delays on the Craigieburn, Sunbury, Alamein, Belgrave, Glen Waverley, Lilydale, Frankston, Werribee, Williamstown, Cranbourne and Pakenham lines due to a power fault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The entire Upfield line was suspended, with replacement buses ordered between North Melbourne and Coburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trains on the Upfield line are now resuming between North Melbourne and Coburg however buses may still be used to supplement train services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delays remain but have started to ease on all other impacted lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The department said an overhead power fault near North Melbourne was responsible for the issue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Almost every train line was affected.
