With an investment of \u20ac24m, the LiteraTIM terminal is expected to remove around 25,000 trucks from the road each year.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"more-87048\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The initiative is led by Terminal Intermodal Monz\u00f3n (TIM), a company formed by Renfe, the ports of Barcelona and Tarragona, and Samca Group. The facility was inaugurated on 29 September and is expected to handle seven trains a day, according to Spanish media.<\/p>\n<p>Tamarite de Litera lies about 200km from the Port of Barcelona, 140km from the Port of Tarragona and 160km from Zaragoza, making it a key logistics hub for the Arag\u00f3n region. The new terminal covers 18,000sqm and provides storage for 600 containers, including 84 refrigerated units. Image: LinkedIn. \u00a9 Grupo Samca<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Samca Group and TIM<\/h2>\n<p>Grupo Samca, based in Arag\u00f3n, is a privately owned industrial conglomerate with an annual turnover estimated between \u20ac1.2 billion and \u20ac1.5 billion. It employs around 3,500 people. Originally rooted in mining, the company has since diversified into renewable energy, polymers and fibres, agribusiness, real estate and mineral processing.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to its industrial portfolio, Samca has expanded into logistics, with a focus on intermodality. Alongside the newly inaugurated LiteraTIM terminal, TIM also operates a terminal in Monz\u00f3n, located just 25km away.
