Three companies were selected in cascade: DB Systemtechnik, Voith and Wyss&amp;Lila Italia.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"more-65860\"><\/span>The initiative \u201cshould deliver sufficient and complete information for installing full Digital Automatic Coupling (DAC) equipment on a locomotive type\u201d, the tender specified. The first one, in this case <strong>DB Systemtechnik<\/strong>, is the real winner of the tender and will be tasked with the project. Should the company be unable to deliver, <strong>Voith<\/strong> would jump in and, eventually, <strong>Wyss&amp;Lila Italia<\/strong>. This method creates a somewhat \u2018safer\u2019 environment because new tender procedures would not be necessary, saving time and resources.<\/div>\n<h2>Specifics of the tender<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cThe action to be procured will involve the research, analysis, development of engineering solutions, and possibly testing for a limited number of locomotive types\u201d for both DAC and ERTMS, the document added. The estimated value of the contract is three million euros, with a duration of 48 months \u2013 12 set initially with the possibility of renewing three times.<\/p>\n<p>The contract also comes with an interesting section, which claims that the companies selected for this tender will be allowed to provide similar services without \u201cprior publication of a contract notice\u201d.
