{"id":27230,"date":"2024-04-12T15:37:46","date_gmt":"2024-04-12T05:37:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=27230"},"modified":"2024-04-12T15:37:46","modified_gmt":"2024-04-12T05:37:46","slug":"scotrail-to-pedal-abandoned-bikes-to-cycling-charity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=27230","title":{"rendered":"ScotRail to pedal abandoned bikes to cycling charity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Abandoned bicycles across Scotland\u2019s railway network are to be given a new lease of life, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scotrail.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ScotRail<\/a> introduces a policy that will see unclaimed bikes renewed or recycled.<\/p>\n<p>The new strategy will allow ScotRail staff to identify and label bicycles considered abandoned, before placing them in secure storage to be reclaimed.<\/p>\n<p>If the bikes aren\u2019t reclaimed within three months, they will then be recycled, or donated to ScotRail\u2019s nominated cycling charity for reuse.<\/p>\n<p>Cycling UK has been chosen by ScotRail to support redistribution of any unclaimed bikes.
