Green Cargo has started transporting fuel between Gothenburg and Malm\u00f6 in Sweden. Previously, those shipments were carried out by sea, but the rail freight operator has now taken over.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>The transport includes gasoline and diesel for Finnish energy company St1, writes Swedish publication J\u00e4rnv\u00e4gar.nu. Green Cargo will take the freight from the St1 refinery in Gothenburg to a depot in Malm\u00f6, where it is unloaded via a newly built port track and transshipment facility.<\/p>\n

The shipments will take place twice a week in autumn, but from December onwards, the operator will carry out the service four times a week. In total, the transports from Gothenburg to Malm\u00f6 will amount to 182,000 tonnes of gasoline and diesel oil per year.<\/p>\n

St1 is the only fuel company in Sweden that transports its product via rail, a representative of Green Cargo told J\u00e4rnv\u00e4gar.nu. That includes shipments from the Gothenburg refinery: Green Cargo already moves fuel from there to the cities J\u00f6nk\u00f6ping and Karlstad.<\/p>\n
