ROMANIAN train operator Transferoviar C\u0103l\u0103tori (TFC) is to run an open-access cross-border passenger service linking Romania with Bulgaria.<\/p>\n
Trains are due to start operating in March between city-centre stations in Ruse in Bulgaria and Bucharest in Romania. They will also serve the under-utilised station at Bucharest’s Henri Coand\u0103 Otopeni international airport<\/a>.<\/p>\n TFC will use Alstom Coradia Lint 41 DMUs for the service, which are capable of running at up to 160km\/h and offer space for up to 130 passengers, including 16 in first class. TFC is hoping reduced journey times and competitive pricing will attract both leisure and business travellers.<\/p>\n The journey from Ruse to Bucharest North station will take between 50 and 60 minutes, with the onward connection to Bucharest\u2019s airport adding a further 20 to 40 minutes.
