A 33% tariff designed to protect Holden, Ford, and Toyota\u2026 brands that haven\u2019t built a car here since 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It kicks in at $80.5k, and for every dollar over, the government takes a massive 33%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No Senate approval was ever given for the hike from 25% to 33% back in 2008!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year it made Canberra $1.25 billion.
