for railways<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Reef Thompson, from the Australian Railway Historical Society, said the electrification of rail in Queensland heralded a new era of travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;They were a coming of age for the railways \u2026 before the EMUs were delivered, there were no electric trains in Brisbane,&#8221;
