{"id":259777,"date":"2025-07-31T17:40:31","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T07:40:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.railfreight.com\/?p=64688"},"modified":"2025-07-31T17:40:31","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T07:40:31","slug":"construction-works-completed-on-another-divaca-koper-section","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=259777","title":{"rendered":"Construction works completed on another Diva\u010da\u2013Koper section"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>It has been a busy July for the construction of the Diva\u010da\u2013Koper line, a key project for rail freight in Slovenia, with multiple milestones over the past few weeks. \u201cThe main construction works on the section from \u010crni Kal to Koper have been completed\u201d, 2TDK, the company owning the infrastructure, said.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"more-64688\"><\/span>Now, all of Section 2 of the project (Koper\u2013\u010crni Kal) is ready for railway works, which have already started and include laying rails, installing electrical equipment and arranging the accompanying infrastructure. The line includes five tunnels, for 11.6 kilometres, and two viaducts. This initiative has encountered many challenges since its launch in March 2021, the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical tensions, and higher prices led to a 10% increase in total costs.<\/p>\n<p>The completion of construction works along the Koper\u2013\u010crni Kal section arrives just a couple of weeks after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railfreight.com\/infrastructure\/2025\/07\/14\/railway-works-commence-inside-divaca-kopers-longest-tunnel\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">launch of railway works<\/a> inside the line\u2019s longest tunnel, part of Section 1 between \u010crni Kal and Diva\u010da. Construction works in Section 2 are still being finalised due to delays caused by geological issues.
