The terminal was initially scheduled to open this year, but the company has confirmed that it is now expected to be operational in 2027.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"more-82061\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Szeged terminal will have a planned handling capacity of 300,000 TEU, Metrans stated. Once completed, the facility will be Metrans\u2019 third terminal in Hungary. The company already operates a terminal in Budapest and is developing another in Zalaegerszeg, close to the Austrian border.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, Metrans has significantly expanded its footprint in Eastern Europe. In addition to the two terminals currently under construction in Hungary, the company has recently expanded its terminal in Dunajsk\u00e1 Streda, Slovakia.
