UGL<\/a>, a member of the CIMIC Group, has been awarded a contract, in joint venture with ADCO, to construct new railcar maintenance facilities at Bellevue, Western Australia, for the State\u2019s Public Transport Authority.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The project expands the existing Bellevue Railcar Manufacturing and Maintenance Facility.<\/p>\n

UGL will provide the project\u2019s civil works, track construction, signalling and trackside equipment installation, electrification works and connection to the site\u2019s existing High Voltage Traction Power substation.<\/p>\n

CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaria said the Bellevue facility embeds local railcar manufacturing, testing and maintenance in Western Australia.<\/p>\n

“It is key to expanding the State\u2019s rail network, and building local jobs and skills that will support future growth,” he said.<\/p>\n

“We are very pleased to be working with the Public Transport Authority, our partner ADCO, and contributing UGL\u2019s extensive transport infrastructure experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

UGL Managing Director Doug Moss said UGL is a leader in Australian transport and infrastructure.<\/p>\n

“This project will bring together the best of our capabilities to ensure a quality and safe outcome for our client and for rail users across Perth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Works commenced in the first quarter of 2024 and are expected to finish in mid-2026.<\/p>\n

The new C-Series railcars<\/a> will be delivered over an eight-year period out of the existing manufacturing facility with 41 six-car electric (EMU) and two three-car diesel (DMU) trains to be delivered.<\/p>\n
